Justin Schneider - August 2017
Schneider offered a woman a ride but instead strangled her unconscious and masturbated on her. He told his victim that he "wasn't really going to kill her" and that he only "needed her to believe she was going to die so that he could be sexually fulfilled".
He had 4 felony charges and 1 misdemeanor. He plead guilty to one of the charges and got a sentence of 2 years with one of them suspended (meaning he does not have to spend time physically in jail then). He also must spend 3 years on probation. Assistant DA Andrew Grannik said that Schneider had lost his job for the Federal Government which Grannik considered a “life sentence” already.
Schneider received credit for time served by wearing an ankle bracelet and living with his family. He said his time gave him a chance to “work on” himself and “become a better father and husband”. Judge Michael Corey said the outcome of the case was “breathtaking” and said, "Mr. Schneider is going to be a member of our community, and he would not be in jail for the rest of his life even if he had been convicted on all of the counts for which he was charged."
